New ranks/Old ranks.

Well today i heard that we are going back to freebuild. im like yay. But then i heard that the ranks will still be Rpish and i was like o crap. So i was wondering you guys what should the ranks be? I really want them to be stable. And so people dont beg about getting the ranks. Ranks that are good and stable. Like i want to go back to [Guest],[Member/Player],[Trusted],[Mod],[Admin],[Op/Operator]-Can be any color. Remembering those good times. Thats when no one begged for ranks everyone knew that they had to earn it or they woudnt get promoted or they would get demoted. And if your not familiar with these ranks im going to put 2 youtube video links of the ranks. Im not saying im trying to control the server. Im suggesting these ranks. Now if you want any different ranks put them as a reply.

Also i have an idea and if you dont know what it is im going to give you guys a link to my post along time ago.

Also most people most likely who like to beg for the ranks aka post on the forums are rank whores because in the old days you had to be ranked was you were chosen or recommend by someone and we know you have worked hard and have been here quite some time. so yeah

If we are going back to the old ranks, I think there should be explanations on what the ranks actually do, recently the ranks have been arbitrary measures of time on while Connor was on, some staff did their jobs, but others, not so much... Would you like me to provide an overview of how the ranks system *should* work?

That would be amazing! I need to understand more about them and enforce the rules to them so they know what they should be doing. I know most ops couldnt get on because of work or vacation when it was free build but it was always seeming to me that i was the only one doing something. But o well. You send me a message post a reply or we could talk over skype. Which ever you like!

And i hope people read what you have to say because some people arent living up to there rank.

For everyone, how the ranks should work.

Guest: New member of the server, usually with restricted building rights (to prevent hit-and-run griefers)

Member: Rank after guest, has building rights, and barely anything else

Trusted/Builder: Has kits/spawn rights (even though it isn't the old way, there should be levels of trusted, based on time playing on server)

Mod: Enforces rules, can do kicks and help players with griefing problems, should be on often, but far less than regular members IS NOT A PRE-ADMIN

Admin: Very few, there should be a 3:1 ratio mods:admins ideally, the most trusted staff a regular player can reach, if lucky... Bans/player vs mod and mod vs mod arguments are settled by admins

OP: Basically the co-owner of the server, manages staff, helps the owner, and manages files/permissions along side the owner

Owner: Public figurehead and payer for the server

I like it! very good but trusted shouldnt be able to trusted.

thats why I said trusted/builder most places call it builder, it used to be called that here too

you used to get trusted when your TRUSTED!
And most of our builders of our old freebuild i didnt even realy know

You get member+ if you are a bit longer on this server

You can not make permissions for this rank you just get this rank. This will hopely stop the rank whores

After this comes trusted

Aww thanks jappie. Dont worry jappie you might be admin idk. And scott i dont like builder because all they will do is beg for the next builder rank. Just keep it to trusted can only teleport to other people.

I remember a time when there were no rank whores and there were no confusion about the ranks. See people want ranks because they want power. These power hungry folks rely on an online video game to find this power. In a way there actually hurting themselves because spending more time trying to get power is reducing there chances of achieving power. Such as the old ranks in which people beg for a higher rank because they dont like to work for their items. They would just rather type in a code and BAM item. But in a way i think we should have spawning only for the mods+ because of the distinct trust that we give these people. A lot of these people work hard for their rank and they dont beg for it. Like me for example. I didnt get my rank because i was the first person on the server. I got my rank because i enforced the rules helped everyone and earned trust. Whoever skips all of these steps dont deserve the rank and they dont deserve to ask. People what im trying to say it that you just play the game and dont worry about the game. Of all the things you could be doing begging shouldnt be one of them. I for one see that if we solve this problem all of it will go away and we can be that top notched server we were.

The old builder 3 should become trusted and everybody else under them should restart in new ranks.

I disagree with wolffy,

The problem was that many Builder 3 didnt earn their rank properly.
We cant make them trusted.
The people who deserve trusted are the people who are pretty long here and are (ofc) trusted by players.
