Seeds in singleplayer are the thing that randomly generates a world. For example: The seed for random in java is always the same. But if you change the seeds, it can be alot different than if its the default. A seed doesnt exactly make it random, i'm not 100% sure on what they do, but some cool ones i know of are Glacier (caps important) 101010101 (meh, idk exactly, but lots of 1 and 0)

oh, i thought seeds were if you put the kind of land you want, you would get it....no wonder i put snow in and got sand haha
